Hwange National Park is undoubtedly one of the most popular safari destinations in Southern African. Home to over 40 000 elephants, all the big cats and more than 400 species of birds it’s easily one a coveted national parks by travellers from all over the world. This part of Hwange National Park is also known for big populations of reedbuck, roan, sable and tsessebe as well as the usual herds of elephants and other species encountered in the Park. Particularly encouraging are the regular sightings of Leopard, Cheetah and African Wild Dog.

You will only require just about 30 minutes on tarred road from the airport or your hotel in Victoria Falls to get to this park of the park – unlike the main Park entrance which is about two and half hours away. From then you are transferred into a Safari truck straight away, taking you deep into the national park.

Accommodation Options

There are accommodation options but Robins Camp is by far the most iconic and accessible. Robins Camp is close to the western boundary of Hwange and was given to the government in 1939 by a local farmer, Harold Robins

The camp has lodges, chalets and camping sites. In addition, a restaurant, bar, shop and fuel are available. Robins Camp, now under private new management, offers an exciting revival of the iconic safari destination in the Hwange National Park.
